Pastor Jeremy Mattek has lived nearly his entire life in Wisconsin. He is the third-oldest of seven children. His greatest influence in becoming a pastor was his father, who currently serves in his own parish on the south side of Milwaukee.
Pastor Mattek attended high school in Watertown, WI and college at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. He graduated from Martin Luther College in the year 2000, and six days after graduation married Karen (nee Kaiser). Pastor Mattek and his wife have been blessed with five children – Kaylee, Chloe, Aidan, Carson and Sydney. The school-age children all attend Garden Homes Lutheran School.
Pastor Mattek graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI in 2004, which is when he was assigned to serve as the pastor of Garden Homes Lutheran Church. He feels tremendously blessed to serve such a passionate and diverse congregation of God’s people, and sees it as a little preview of heaven, when the throne of the Lamb will be surrounded by members of “every tribe, language, nation and race.”
